What do I need for my first class at Krudar?

For your first class, we recommend that you bring shorts, a t-shirt, a bottle of water, and a towel. If you have your hand-wraps and bag gloves, feel free to bring them as you will be using those regularly.

Do I need to purchase any other equipment?

As you advance through the levels, you can purchase sparring gear such as 16oz gloves, jocks, and shin guards. These are required for sparring. At the beginner level, you will need to have hand wraps and bag gloves, and should be in proper uniform at all times.

Do I need to fill out any forms before I can use the gym?

You are required to complete a Krudar waiver before you attend your first class for safety purposes. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign it for you.

Will I need to fight anybody?

NO. We have separate classes that deal with sparring and you will not be able to participate until you have reached the required level or have been assessed by a personal trainer at Krudar. Muay Thai is a great way to get in shape – fighting is only for those who choose that they wish to compete.

Do I need to attend every single class?

As a martial arts and fitness gym, we do recommend that you commit to at least three classes a week, as this will ensure the best results. However, this is of course dependent on your availability.

What should I expect for each class?

Typically, a normal Muay Thai class lasts about 1.5 hours. The first 45 minutes is dedicated to strength & conditioning – skipping, sit-ups, push-ups, etc – as this is an essential component to training Muay Thai. In the second half of class you will be taught the fundamentals of Muay Thai and be introduced to various techniques (kicks, punches, elbows, and knees).

I’ve never done Muay Thai before or any form of martial arts. Is that a problem?

Not at all! Most of our clients start with no former knowledge of Muay Thai, or any martial arts. You will learn the basics of this art and build your athleticism overtime.

Are there any females in the classes? What about female instructors?

Most Definitely! There are plenty of females who train Muay Thai. We also have a handful of female instructors and fighters on our fight team, as well as many female champions!

How much is membership?

You are welcome to try out a trial class for only $10! Plus if you register on your first day, the $10 will go towards your membership option. We have several membership options starting at $29/mo. Finally, there are always lots of promotions going on, so be sure to ask when you come in!

How does personal training work?

We have several personal trainers at Krudar, who all specialize in different areas. Usually clients will see faster results when they take personal training.
